Join iPlayground 2027

AI and technology move fast. You do not have to chase them alone.

You do not have to be an expert first. Join people who experiment, build, and grow together.

Go further together

You may move faster alone. Together, we can go further.

Knowing a tool exists is not the same as using it well at work. What helps is having people who share their methods, try things with you, and talk honestly about what failed.

iPlayground

Since 2018, we have brought real-world iOS and Swift experience together.

iPlayground is an annual conference built by Taiwan’s developer community. People from different companies and career stages share real projects, hard-earned lessons, new tools, and practical ways AI is changing how we work.

The sessions end. The conversations stay with the community.

There are people to ask when you get stuck, people to test a new tool with, and friendships that begin at the conference and continue over meals, conversations, and everyday life. These trusted weak ties often bring knowledge and technical exchange, and can sometimes lead to unexpected opportunities at work.

Crew members are not extra hands. We are co-creators.

Speakers, program, partners, venue, food, communication, visual design, and media all come together here—along with a timer, mission app, quiz system, captions, podcast, and interviews that often begin with, “What if we build it ourselves?”

Why join

What do you gain by joining the crew?

  1. Meet new friends and build trusted weak ties

Meet people beyond your usual circles. You may not talk every day, but working together helps you understand what each person knows and makes it natural to exchange information, technical insight, and useful introductions.

People from different backgrounds chatting naturally on the venue steps
  2. Bring practical AI knowledge back to work

Exchange successful approaches and honest failures with people already using AI in development, content, design, and workflows.

  3. Find people who will investigate problems with you

Growing with strong peers is not about watching from a distance. It is a chance to build alongside people who are skilled and generous with what they know.

  4. See possibilities beyond your own company

Meet people across industries, experience levels, and roles, and discover different ways to work. Friends may also share collaborations, openings, or career opportunities; those are possible extensions of trusted relationships, not a promise of joining.

  5. Find your place in a playful community

The event ends, but the relationships do not have to. Over time, you gain friends you can reach in everyday life and a playground that feels fun to return to and safe to belong in.

You do not have to be an expert before you join.

Knowing Swift is not your ticket into this playground. Engineers, students, business development, marketing, design, media, and event organizers all have meaningful ways to contribute.

Ways to contribute

Find the kind of work you want to take part in

Bring ideas worth sharing to the stage

Invite and support speakers, review proposals, shape the program, and connect rehearsals, slides, and event-day flow.

Give every decision a reliable financial foundation

Plan budgets, manage accounting and ticketing, and track sales so the team knows what is possible.

Turn hundreds of details into a smooth event

Coordinate venue, equipment, food, supplies, merchandise, badges, and on-site movement.

Turn an introduction into a lasting partnership

Find and meet partners, shape collaboration, and coordinate booths, visibility, and delivery.

Help strong content reach the people who need it

Create social content, speaker interviews, podcasts, and meetups, then learn from audience response.

Turn ideas into things people can see and use

Build the visual identity, merchandise, website, and event tools into a coherent experience.

Preserve the story of this year

Photograph, record, direct, edit, and caption the knowledge on stage and the moments around it.

Before you join

Let’s be clear about the commitment.

This is an unpaid volunteer role.

You will be credited on the official website and receive a crew ticket.

The three event days

  • Setup day
  • Conference day 1
  • Conference day 2

Attendance on all three days is required to apply.

Preparation rhythm

In 2027 there will be one in-person meetup in each of July, August, and September, plus an online sync every two weeks. All times are tentative and will be coordinated with the team.

Merchandise perks

During preparation, crew members usually see merchandise ideas earlier, join design discussions, receive purchase priority, and access crew pricing. The exact arrangement depends on each year’s plan and available quantities.

What happens after you submit the form?

  1. Reply within 2 weeks after applications close
  2. About a 10-minute online conversation
  3. Find the right mission line together
  4. Start building

This is not a pressure interview. It is a conversation about what you want to contribute, what the team needs, and whether this is the right year to work together. The form takes about 6–8 minutes.
